Remote court hearings have increased since the start of the pandemic in 2020 and appear to be the promise of the future, due to a number of research findings showing positive outcomes for both the defendant and the judiciary. Remote court hearings are more cost-efficient than in-person hearings and less burdensome on the defendant.
