Monitoring Treatment Court Fidelity: A Statewide Approach

It goes without saying that fidelity to the treatment court model is crucial to producing positive participant outcomes. This session aims to share the story of Georgia’s treatment courts and how they have been able to serve 38,125 participants since 2013 while implementing a statewide approach to fidelity.
Learning Objectives:
- By the end of the presentation, attendees will have learned the history behind how Georgia was able to expand its number of treatment courts from 72 in 2011 to 189 in 2024.
- Session attendees will gain a working knowledge of the statewide training and technical assistance offerings Georgia provides to help ensure fidelity to the treatment court model.
Ms. Taylor Jones is the Executive Director for the Council of Accountability Court Judges (CACJ) and an expert on all types of accountability courts for the State of Georgia. She is responsible for the planning and implementing of processes, practices, and priorities of the Council, and all fiscal needs and supervision of related personnel. As of July 2024, Georgia has established 189 certified and/or state funded accountability court programs and tracks. Ms. Jones also serves as the statewide accountability court coordinator of Georgia. She has worked with Georgia’s accountability courts in multiple capacities since 2009 and has a bachelor’s degree in sociology/political science from Piedmont College, and a master’s degree in public administration from Columbus State University. She also earned a master certificate of court administration issued by Georgia’s Council of Court Administrators and a certificate of judicial administration from Michigan State University.
