Treatment Court Training & Technical Assistance (TTA) Program

TTA Provider

STATE TTA PROVIDER – NATIONAL CENTER FOR STATE COURTS

In 2023, the National Center for State Courts (NCSC) was named the U.S. Department of Justice’s Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA)  Adult Treatment Court State-Based Training and Technical Assistance Provider.

NCSC is a community of dedicated researchers, consultants, and former practitioners who drive innovation and progress in courts and justice systems. Our team of experts are deeply committed to advancing just, free, and safe communities.

As the State-Based TTA provider, NCSC provides support to BJA statewide treatment court grantees, state agencies (such as state administrative offices, state administering agencies and state substance use agencies), and state drug court coordinators to establish performance standards for statewide treatment courts, implement fidelity assessment processes, develop statewide training programs for treatment court teams, engage in statewide strategic planning, implement evidence-based practices, support statewide data collection and evaluation efforts, and build statewide treatment court capacity.

The Bureau of Justice Assistance's (BJA’s) mission is to provide leadership and services in grant administration and criminal justice policy development to support state, local, and tribal justice strategies to achieve safer communities. Through its Adult Treatment Court Program, BJA provides financial and technical assistance to states, state courts, local courts, units of local government, and federally recognized Indian tribal governments to plan, implement, and enhance the operations of adult treatment courts. This includes management and service coordination for treatment court participants, fidelity to the adult treatment court model, and recovery support services.
