"Fundamentals of AI in the U.S. Court System” will introduce the applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the U.S. court system. This session will provide court professionals with a foundational understanding of AI and its potential to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the judicial process. Participants will gain insight into the current applications of AI in the court system and be able to consider the ethical implications of its use.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Define what AI is and its capabilities
- Describe the current and future ways AI is used in the court system
- Identify the ethical considerations surrounding AI in the court system
- Discuss the current challenges and implications of AI for the future of the court system
This session will be led by Jake Heller, an AI expert in the law, and Jake Porway. Heller recently joined Thomson Reuters, and before that, he spent the last 15 years working as a lawyer and as the CEO of a technology company specializing in AI with the legal sector. Porway is consulting with NCSC on AI.
