Webinar: Family-Centered Fridays - Hope-Centered Child Welfare Court - Cultivating hope for children, families, and court communities

-

Washington State’s court improvement program has partnered with various state and national partners to bring Dr. Chan Hellman’s Science of Hope research to Washington state.

The science of hope can be used by a system, organization, community, or person to nurture hope in programs, policies, and practices. When a system implements the science of hope in its policies and practices, and becomes hope-centered, it promotes increased well-being for the organization and improved outcomes for the youth and families they serve. Building a hope-centered culture instills people with a sense of common purpose and collaboration, encouraging participants and professionals to shift from a focus on conflict and recrimination to one of possibilities and constructive outcomes. This shift can enhance resilience and emotional regulation, reducing reactive and adversarial behaviors.

During this Family-Centered Friday session, you will hear from  Sarah Burns and Kelly Warner-King, Washington Court Improvement Programs, along with the Heather Cantamessa, Director of Family Impact and Parent Ally at Akin, about their journey to bring the science of hope to Washington and their plans for a hope-centered child welfare court system.
