Preparing Stakeholders to Engage
The Massachusetts leadership team convened an initial meeting with court actors from the Chicopee, Holyoke, and Springfield district courts to orient them to the engagement project, identify target audiences and goals, and plan for engagement events. To help prepare all partnering court actors, the Massachusetts leadership team and its local partners reviewed and discussed several resources, including:
- The Massachusetts Trial Court’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Strategic Plan
- Themes relevant to diversity and access issues in the courts identified from previous listening sessions with court personnel
- Resources provided by the University of Nebraska Public Policy Center, including a framework for problem-solving and strategies to recruit participants to engagement initiatives
