- Judgeship allocations:
- Louisiana House bill requires the Judicial Council to adopt standards and guidelines for the elimination of judgeships and judicial offices.
- Alabama legislature approves a bill to prohibit the state's Judicial Resources Allocation Commission from reallocating any vacant judgeships until January 1, 2027.
- South Carolina governor signs Judicial Personal Privacy Protection Act; home address and personal cellular telephone number maintained by a state or local government agency of a judge are confidential and must not be disclosed to the public if the judge requests access be restricted.
- Texas legislature gives final approval to several measures including:
- creation of a Fifteenth Court of Appeals with exclusive jurisdiction over disputes involving the state or state agencies.
- creation of a new criminal offense for the unauthorized disclosure of non-public judicial opinions and judicial work product.
