New and active legislation includes:
- Hawaii House and Senate conference committee reaches agreement on a bill to prevent access to and publication of personally identifiable information of judges;
- California Assembly and Senate committees advance bills related to lactation rooms for court users in courthouses, mandating reporting of such rooms in the state starting in 2025;
- Iowa Senate effort to attach changes to judicial selection to judiciary appropriations bill fails to move forward; and
- Michigan House and Senate advance plans to change the way state and local governments pay for trial courts.
