State Court Organization (SCO) is a product of a collaborative partnership between the National Center for State Courts and the state court community. The contents were determined by canvassing the issues and information items of primary concern to state court judges and administrators. Staff from the administrative offices of the courts and the appellate court clerks’ offices were the primary source of SCO information, and a special subcommittee of the Conference of State Court Administrators (COSCA) Court Statistics Committee participated in all stages of its development. State Court Organization is a companion series to the annual caseload statistics publications produced by the National Center for State Courts and the Conference of State Court Administrators through the Court Statistics Project.
